There is venom that causes blood to clot, and the clots can kill you.
There is venom that causes blood not to clot (anticoagulation) and you can bleed to death.
There is venom that is neurotoxic (blocks nerve signals) and can stop your heart or diaphragm from working.
There is venom that actually begins to digest your body tissues and organs (tissue necrosis).
Many types of venom have more than one of these properties. For example, most rattlesnake venom will cause both blood clotting and tissue necrosis.

However, when anticoagulants are taken to extreme, they cause death. That's what warfarin does - it is a well-known rat poison.
