As long as people keep using Twitter (or Nitter, or any other open source mirror site), it’s not going anywhere. No matter what Elon does/doesn’t do. Its the second largest social media in the world, and a good large percentage are not going to stop using it, no matter who is/isn’t in charge (most normies don’t know or care to), as long as the convenience and access to the website still exists.
The idea that Elon dumps Twitter and everyone just hops off Twitter is pure hopium and should not be anyon’s realistic expectation.
It actually is, if you consider Youtube a search engine vs. a social media platform. If you do consider the latter, then Twitter would be 3rd, but still not far.
Also this is considering Facebook/Instagram/What’s App as the same platform since they’re owned by the same company now.
Twitter is far below the list fren, the massive ones are Meta properties (FB, Instagram, WhatsApp) yes, however if you remove them from the list, Twitter is still small in comparison.
You’re forgetting WeChat, TikTok, QQ, Telegram (more MAU than Twitter, imagine that), to name a few. Twitter is quite small in comparison.
As time go by, Twitter seem to be losing users (or not growing as fast) as the other platforms.

True true.
But Twitter is hardly the 2nd largest in the world, that’s a Western view of the ‘World’. Not saying the other big ones are any good either!
We need a decentralized social media platform, they do exist, but the UX and reach is horrendous at this point.
TS, even good, is entirely at the whims of any Government controlled entity.
