As per the story of Joseph in the Bible, Gates means to do this for evil, but God means to use it for good. This is a case of the wealth of the wicked being laid up for the just. God is gathering things into piles for distribution, and Gates doesn't know a thing about it. In the end, all the assets this man owns will be taken out of his hands, and the land he is buying will be turned over to good people who know how to farm.
