Yes the first time I watched a video from him was like meeting an old friend. He is definitely a fellow citizen of my universe. And no, of course, I do not know him, have never met him or exchanged with him, etc. Yet he has a lot of similar views to me, and has done a strikingly similar amount of inquiry into history, etc.
