When I first read Ayn Rand I understood very little, barely had any life experience to even understand these things, but I was left with a tremendous feeling of wanting to use my brains to create something awesome. I am grateful for that.
She was just another useful tool for weaponising Capitalism. Basically, give enough to greedy people who want to rationalise not using their heart in business decisions. Thats pretty much all the purpose she served.
Agree. It makes sense she hated Social Confiscation so much given where she was from.
Her flaw was not understanding Contextual Communitarianism - for the same reasons. I mean we can’t expect her as someone growing up in communism to understand that you can’t have either Only Communism or Only Individual Capitalism. Truth is the greatest Capitalistic Production was the result of private companies that shared their wealth and motivated employees with decent leadership. Rand got sort of close with it with Galt calling away the brightest minds. Thing is they never worked together directly to accomplish an ends. Thinking a single individual logistically has enough time and capacity to do multiple society enhancing things is fiction.
Lately this exact thought is why I find Elon Musk so suspect. Aerospace, Green Energy, Social Sociences ( now w Twitter ), Crypto, Transhumanism, Colonization if Space, Private Space Logistics & Privatization of Space - And wanting to consolidate it all, eventually, into a single Company - Called X? X was already created https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/X.com in some huge vision for a centralized future.
Elon is conning people right now with this idea of humanitarian futurist. He keeps playing like he knows the things he is doing are inevitable so he wants to be the herald to “get it right and ease the right model in”.

I know the family. Great people.
God is with them.
I think its a little humorous that his son's name is Rand.
R an D
Eh it’s after Ayn Rand of all things.
Not a huge fan of hers. She was batshit crazy & didn’t follow what she preached.
Ron though does. Not close to Rand - they confirm he’s tough as shit though. I know Randy sister a lot better than anyone.

Doesn’t sit right. At all.
