In science, when any new ideas are mentioned that possibly can help people, they are supposed to get examined in the bright light of day, openly discussed, and rejected or accepted on their merits. Not on govt edict, orthodoxy, money, mandate, consensus, or political value.

Just in case anyone was unclear on that.
