But if he just bought it, they can't CHANGE it. That's not legal. I'm sure he bought the company as it is today, not after their future unsupported changes. It would be in the contract they can't touch certain things.

There will be no such contract. When he buys it it's his. He don't need permission. That would be like if I bought a home but before I could I had to agree to never paint the house. Ridiculous
I think they meant the opposite. Like, if you bought a house but the previous homeowner took out all the appliances even though the contract states the appliances stay.
I don't think criminals are concerned with what's legal.
