Like under 10 people a year get tetanus in the US and 10% of cases are fatal. The bacteria prefers hot, humid climates where there's lots of organic material or manure in the soil. The bacteria can also live in heroin, so that's pretty weird.

I guess the moral to this story is, don't do heroin and garden at the same time.
