I've heard that having sufficient iodine / iodides may help the body remove toxic fluorides. Because iodine can't react with the fluorides, then perhaps it detoxes by occupying the uptake sites when it get a chance and blocking any fluoride ions which happen to be mobile at that time, thereby flushing fluoride ions as they rotate on and off uptake sites.
Yes iodised salt isn't enough.
A fren here suggested to be careful with ramping up iodine as it could initiate Hashimotos or similar autoimmune attack on the thyroid. According to her it also can upset your thyroxine levels too and get you too hyped.
