The Universe expands and contracts, like labor pangs or waves in the ocean.
It recedes and then proceeds.

One period of the process takes a very, very long time. In a way, longer than time itself, so as to be the very measure of time. All other delineation of time are fractions of the greatest period.
The fabled "Age of Aquarius" marks the beginning of the recession -- where all heavenly bodies stop moving away from one another, and instead start to come together.
This togetherness is the theme of the contraction of all things. It's the worker coming home to share the happenings of his day to the family.
The Universe functions with a call and response; the Word and the Echo which reaffirms the Word first spoken.
The Firmament itself, then, is the MAP of all things. That is, to look upon the Firmament shows how closely things are currently related. Tracking the heavenly bodies can inform us on the movements of the smaller things which ride upon their influence. Does not the position of the Sun determine when plants turn their leaves to receive it? Does not the phase of the moon determine the howl of the wolf?
Why then must we assume the position of Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, Mercury, Uranus, Venus, or Neptune not denote such events on their own, proper courses?
One can not know the future without recording the past. All events repeat in spirit as does the ebb and flow of waves in the water. Though the content changes shape and form, the presence persists as it always has and will continue to.
Knowing the future is but a gimmick. Do you not know the future when a car speeds towards a pedestrian? The moment as you witness the two converge, you will be looking into the future fate of the pedestrian and car alike. Though the events have not yet come to pass, you can claim with certainty what soon shall transpire, as you are a witness of similar past events. We call it a miracle when our predictions fail for the better, and an omen when it fails for the worse.
So, too might we caste our premonitions from the Firmament before us. When big things move, it is because something bigger has moved them in its carefree passing.
As above, so below. In the Heavens as on Earth. This is the mystery of the Firmament. A Mirror of the Mountain upon the Still Pond, shaken by the mere pebble, though it is but an illusion.
