The only solution is to try to derail the trolley by switching tracks mid way..
So you have heard of it, but you disregard it as a discussion of ethics and morality?
The premise is flawed. If you happen upon the trolley and know how to work the swirth and the switch is unlocked then you should try to derail it. As far as morals and ethics.. you should always endeavour to do the least amount of harm. But that is subjective and you are not faulted no matter what you choose to do because you didnt create the situation and bear no responsibility
Thatβs an excellent point! Level of harm is completely subjective. It can be argued that while an abortion is certainly a difficult situation, when you gather the full scope of the situation the morality and ethics of it can be quite murky. Thatβs exactly the point of the trolley problem
Except the is no murk. Killing a baby because you dont want it is always wrong.
