"Bacteria is life on mars, but a heartbeat isn't life on Earth? Weird" Love me some Tom MacDonald and Nova! I used to always say, "the truth will set you free", but now I constantly say, "FACTS don't care about your feelings".

Q: What is one significant difference between Life and Non-Life?
A: Cell Division.
I use that all the time and usually get the 'Blue Screen of Death' stare. Especially when you ask them if they have ever gardened and planted a seed as a follow up question.
Once the seed germinates and starts growing within the seed shell (uterus) - is not the plant then "alive and growing"? Please explain the difference between that and a human baby.....
Blank Stares.
