When I was in high school there was an Albanian kid in my class who was drawing Chinese characters down a page and we were all amazed.

I asked him how he knew to write like that and he said:

Bro, it's easy. You just draw a house!

While trying to learning Japanese I started learning a bunch of these characters (they both share the same symbols) and I must say its pretty interesting how they take different symbols and add them together to make complex symbols. But in the end I find it very impractical because even to be able read basic text, you need to learn minimum 2000 symbols :(
