This the reason why I don't believe the whole "optics don't matter" notion.if optics don't matter, then why they don't prove it by yelling at people the truth while crossdressing? If optics don't matter, then dress codes don't matter anymore and you should dress however you want and be taken seriously.

Yet, they still dress seriously and professionally while out in the world...
