Pepe, the entire float has been sold over maybe 10-20 times and there are literally ‘BILLIONS’ of synthetic shorts and naked shorts that haven’t closed. I’m going to do you all a big favor here and tell you the truth. If what happens June 3 - Jun 14 is what we think will happen the ONLY people cashing in will be those who bought their shares via computershare.com. This is the direct stock registry company for both GME and AMC. If you do not buy registered shares through them and them alone when the squeeze happens all of the phone-app brokers and hedgefunds that are margin called will be scrambling to find and buy ‘the real shares’ - which only those who bought through DRS will actually own. Robinhood, Fidelity, Webull if you read the fine print of the agreements when you register, do NoT have to actually buy the shares for you but can buy it for you and represent it in your portfolio (the value) even though it is not really there. They then can borrow or loan those shares to hedgefunds which then can short them and play a myriad of manipulation games with them.
When/if the music stops and this thing takes off you will be left holding a flaming bag of dog shut my friend. If any of you join us you have to buy through computershare.com. You’ve been warned and I will not feel sorry for the millions of people who are going to think they are rich - only to find out it will be like a run on the banks. Spoiler alert - the banks do not actually have everyone’s total account value in cash on hand at any given time. Buyer beware.
So am I, however that theory completely defeats the theory behind the MOASS. If brokers can just “cancel” out non-registered naked-short shares, then there would be no MOASS, as there wouldn’t ever be a search for the lowest ask price, which would be astronomical due to everyone being aware of the rewards and Diamond hands.
Aside from DRSed shares, who’s to know who is holding the REAL shares? Would it be fair to liquidate just anyone’s portfolio for the sake of closing naked positions real or fake? You can’t just “delete” real shares. Would institution holders do something about it? BlackRock and vanguard are the biggest GME holders aside from APES and Ryan Cohen himself. Would they let Citadel blow up their board without taking any profits?
