Global chip shortage: A timeline of unfortunate events

Has Trump's Space Force been sucking up all the computer chips in the market. Perhaps no way to prove it but I bet there is a connection. If they are building death rays, satellites and a spaceship fleet, they would need lots of semiconductors.
A friend of mine had an alternate theory. What if, in preparation for an invasion of Taiwan and the loss of its main facility, TSMC has been silently shutting down and moving its line to be installed in the new fab in Arizona?
Could be hidden from the factory worker bees without access to all the information. (Offsite maintenance, upgrades, etc.)
It is known that production at TSMC was significantly lower during 2021 than in years past. This is generally blamed on a wafer shortage. Was the wafer shortage real, or a concocted excuse to justify limited production?
Lots of theories. Very few genuine data points to verify any of them. We'll just have to wait and hope history eventually gives us the answer.
Yeah, I figured something like this had to be occurring also. The chip production is too important and the white hats would have identified that as a critical national defense item that had to maintain its production line.
There was some facility in the upper Midwest that Trump touted also that I thought could be used. It used a large amount of water IIRC.
