The whole Law of War manual theory has always rubbed me the wrong way. It's absolutely absurd to think that we'd have to allow an enemy to occupy us for a set amount of time before we could fight back. It's completely contradictory to natural law.

"Honey, someone broke into our house and is robbing us!" "Sorry babe, I have to let him stay for at least 1 day before I can fight back."

It's just silly.

That's kind of like how it is in Spain when you get squatters settle in. It can be absurdly difficult to get them out, meanwhile you basically have to continue to pay for the utilities..
