Maybe not the sole explanation for gold's significance to man, but a good early example all the same. Lots to be said about gold in the hermetical trismagistus (sp?)... Which is also N. African/Mediterranean in origin and directly related to Egyptian mythos.
I really don't know the full significance of the cabal's obsession with gold and thought that maybe this was part of it. What is the hermetical trismagistus? I might have to do some researching later, I'm intrigued.
In layman's terms, Thoth = Hermes... Same demi God represented in two different timelines. Thoth was God of knowledge in Egypt. Hermes was the messenger God in Greek.
Supposedly there exists tablets found in Egypt known as the Hermtical Trismagistus (also known as the Emerald Tablets) that is in three ancient languages. Egyptian, Greek, and I forget the third... It's either cuneiform (Sumerian) or Latin. Anyhow, the Egyptian government has said on record many times the tablets are real and keep them closed away from the public (sorta like the Ark story relating to Ethiopia).
In this book, it describes many things. The origin of the demigods coming to pre bronze age man (figuratively deluge survivors that beached in N. Africa) to the sharing of "magick", alchemy, and technology given to early man. E.g. the story of Prometheus given the gift of fire by the gods.
It also goes into many other subjects, one being how Thoth/Hermes possesses almost Christ-like powers of resurrection and reincarnation involving basically time travel on a scale. That parable actually mimics the story of the Archangels carrying out various deeds and influencing events throughout history so that certain outcomes were inevitable once the desired point in time for a scenario to occur E.g. The story of Esther in the bible and origins of "The Purge". Angels had to influence future and past events for that parable to play out exactly as God intended.
It's a really deep rabbit hole that segways into multiple ancient mythos and Christian history as well. Gives an interesting history on what may have happened to some of the Nephilim that survived post deluge.
And what did she make to replace it? A GOLD phallus. Probably where the gold obsession comes from.
Absolutely correct.

There's better sources and digs but this was a quickly found link
