You get anywhere near the coast of Antarctica and military ships show up and tell you to turn around or they will blow your ship up. There are literally YouTube videos of people trying this and the military shutting them down. I don’t even think this (military control of Antarctica) is disputed.
Then commission a regular expedition. If you just show up unannounced and with no invite, expect this sort of thing. Still no obstacle to circumnavigation. There even used to be tourist flights over the continent. There are tourist flights to the south pole itself.
