It's double strength milk.
If you mix it with an equal part of water you get regular strength milk.
Canned milk is completely sterile. Ordinary pasteurized milk is "almost" sterile.
Canned milk loses a little bit of the flavor in the process.
There is also sweetened-condensed canned milk like Eagle Brand (more like a coffee creamer) --- so don't confuse the two.

I put the whole can in pot of simmering hot water for 4 hours.
