Agree on this.
Same.
As a species, we yearn for the stars.
Government programs just seem to squander it and take the money for other projects.
The only way we are going to make progress is by pushing for it, and that is primarily coming from Elon and his companies.
There are a lot of willing sacrifices in the world. I would say probably thousands, tens of thousands even, who would gladly risk their lives in the pursuit of space colonization progress.
To train them to send them on a trip to the moon and back, to Mars and back, to beyond and back. Many would die for the opportunity to see and experience space in person. So few have, and to be a part of something so big is wondrous.
I don't see why it is morally wrong to allow them the opportunities, if they know in no uncertain terms that the likelihood of those who go first coming back are slim.
I know people will probably disagree with me, but there are truly those who would put their lives on the line for this, and I don't think a mutually beneficial relationship like that is a bad thing to offer either.
You are talking about the Robinson for the stars. Yes. I know of those people.
