Again, they have always had full time protection at their homes. Garland has provided them with extra protection by placing US Marshals ( who usually only provide protection when they travel) to patrol the outside grounds.

Simply because they now have a highly visible outside protection detail doesn't mean they haven't had full time protection at home from the Supreme Court police previously.
