It was. Whoever put that devotional forward has a deep understanding of God’s Word and His prompting for us to put on the Full Armour of God in difficult times - everyday. I remember my daughter bought home from school a colour-in page on the ‘Full Armour of God”. I was mortified. The Minister had replaced the Armour with everyday items - umbrella, suitcase, hat, business suit etc. He didn’t want to ‘upset’ the children with impressions of war! He was part of the liberal churches springing up and didn’t really understand the true impact that it would have down thru the ages. It would seem war would be with us for thousands of years.
When I see JOY - I always think of the wonderful Servant of God that lead me to The Lord Jesus. He had a bookmark with JOY on it. I said how lovely it was and it was given by someone on his walk. He said do you know what it means? I replied no - he replied. JESUS. OTHERS. YOURSELF. JOY. I’ve never forgotten that and try to apply it everyday. God Bless.
