Vax it says is not required for leaving us. But it says people entering us is required to have it. Its not clear if us citizens can come back without it. Is this a trap?

US citizens do not need vax to enter country. The airlines will check for your nose rape test before you leave the other country. Customs wont check anything. That was my experience 2 months ago.
Cross the border illegally, just like 200,000 other people do each month. They can enter the U.S. freely and don't need the Vax.
It's not a trap, but it is stupid. What's interesting is that when I returned from abroad (few months back), U.S. Customs never asked to see my proof of a negative C19 test. Not sure if things have changed, or if they're asking for it at random.
Don't leave. I know someone personally who was in that same situation, and it was a load of bullshit for him to get back in the states.
They definitely don't check at the land border. I don't believe the U.S. requires its citizens to be vaxxed to get in. But beware: many other countries require it; many airlines require it. If you touch either of those points, your travel could be held up. That means your airline could refuse travel back to the U.S. even if the U.S. doesn't care.
Thanks for adding that.
Hmm. I was referring to US citizens returning, and only know about the Southern border. I know some people (US citizens) who cross regularly, and they've never been asked.
If you are flying back to the U.S., all airlines require a negative Covid test at least 24 hours before departure. Yes, it’s stupid, but those are the current rules until they change. Give it a little time, we got the masks to get dropped, I’m sure this requirement will get dropped as well.
