I concur. In the area I live (very hot and sunny) black cars are unpopular and scarce, and have been for many years due to the intense heat issue with them sitting out in the sun here. But back in the day, I had a series of cars that were silver beauties. Every one of them got hit by another driver while minding their own business. Sideswiped while waiting at a light, rear-ended while parked on the street in a residential area, t-boned by a red-light runner, etc. Each time the driver would exclaim, "I didn't see you!" After that, I sought out brightly colored cars to own, and no more surprise accidents.
Point of Observation: Years ago, you'd see every color on the road, solids and metallic colors of every shade. But now all I see is white, gray, varying shades of silver, a few reds and occasionally a tangerine/gold shade. What happened?
I've been looking at buying a new car and the color choices are so limited and boring. Bring back the gorgeous colors!
Leasing became way more popular and if you lease your color options are limited to what they have on the lot at the time. Then they'll want to re-lease them again or sell them after the lease is up so again the dealers focus on leasing the popular colors so they're less likely to have it sit on the lot again. If you want other colors you need by buy firsthand and often special order now.
I've had a black car and very rarely did people pull out in front of me. But my Grey/Silver car...it happened nearly every day. Even leaving my headlights on all the time didn't help.

Yep. Too much like asphalt or the sky.
