Traveled out of the country with a group of people for a 4-day weekend. Per cdc and the resident in chief, US citizens must show proof of a negative Covid test prior to returning to the states. Three members of my party, myself included, failed the coof test and have been holed up in quarantine for the last 6 days. During that time I missed my civic duty by not being able to vote in the GA primary…had to watch corruption from afar. Have spent countless hours on GAW and others, just to pass the time. Fast forward to today when we were set to leave…nope. We are stuck for another 5 days despite being a-symptomatic, we are still testing positive. The doctor who did the testing asked the three of us if we had been vaccinated. One of us ( not me or the spouse) has been three times vaxed. When I told the doc that I preferred not to say, she said, “then I will take that as a no”. “If you had the vaccine you’d probably get out of here sooner.” In that moment I think I had what can only be described as an out of body experience. “Fuck you”, I said. “ you have no right to ask and have no way of knowing if what you said is true”. “Just ask my vaxed and boosted friend here”. “And don’t even get me started on the fucking PCR test you want to ram up my nose!” Yes, I completely lost my shit.
Rest assured frens…while masses of illegals cross our southern border to get cash and a free phone, exposing all who cross their path, my party is safely sheltering place because our government has banned us from returning home.
End of rant.
This sucks big time. Sorry for the shitshow you are experiencing. I have no real interest in traveling out of my own State right now. I get the distinct impression that everything is coming to a head soon and I want to be close to home, but I applaud your decision to do what you want and not interrupt your life for this covid nonsense. Unfortunately, it puts you at the mercy of reps of the Federal Government when you try to reenter the US. Some of these fed folks are low totem pole power nazis. As a fed employee, i get to bear the brunt of it fairly regularly, but I just crossed my 20 year mark and will be retiring from government service this year. I will find something else to do, but I have had enough of the shitshow and won't be serving any longer. I still have 14 years to go before I am eligible for retirement pay, but I have many options for work. Good luck and I hope you get home safely!
