I find your statement "indoctrinates children into Christianity" very demeaning. No one is "indoctrinated" into Christianity. They either accept it or they don't. Cults do indoctrinate, but not Christianity in general. Maybe the Monarch course was created by a controlling cultist. IDK.
Might be demeaning - but true.
ALL religions indoctrinate - especially children. They MAY be able to reject it later in life once they figure things out on their own. But in the early years - it IS indoctrination.
I teach my kid Math at a young age. Is that “indoctrination” too? We teach our children all sorts of knowledge when they are young. But somehow when someone teaches religion to them, it magically becomes “evil indoctrination. “ One can be “indoctrinated” with the truth, too.
Almost all public schooling could be considered “indoctrination.”
The question that should be asked is “Who gets to decide what’s considered indoctrination and what’s not?”
Snark. It was a good course and the person who showed it to me was editing out the religious parts. I personally still see butterflies in their traditional cross cultural iconic use as a symbol of renewed life and resurrection. Looking at monarch butterflies as some kind of subliminal boasting about a secret program about indoctrinating children is grasping for scandal, imo. And indoctrinate did not always mean brainwashing, it meant to pass on doctrine. Don't tell me churches don't do that, or use the basic brainwashing techniques of fear and reward to ingrain their doctrine to compliant behavior.
"What is the difference between education and indoctrination?
The precise boundary between education and indoctrination often lies in the eye of the beholder. Some distinguish indoctrination from education on the basis that the indoctrinated person is expected not to question or critically examine the doctrine they have learned.

sorry to break it to you, but Christianity is a type of cult, just like every other religion on the planet.
And most parents force it on their children, a form of indoctrination. It might make the planet better, it might not, but it is definitely a form of indoctrination by definition.
