“[Measuring] Durham’s performance by the outcome in the United States v. Sussmann would be a mistake. Also, especially in the case of an acquittal, it would ignore the valuable information exposed related to the broader Spygate scandal. Using that gauge as a measure, the special counsel’s office succeeded wildly.”

Those future prosecutions are dependent upon funding from AG Garland. The not guilty verdict throws shade on him saying the DOJ can't waste anymore resources, especially when times are so tough. They care about the American Public and will tighten their belt in the public interest. If you can't see that happening you need to exercise your critical thinking skills a little more.
I can see it. They can't come up with a way to stop Durham, until they find the opportunity through the jury. Put some donors that will vote not guilty on there, and then they have their out like you suggest.
Only takes one.
