Who on earth at a beach is keeping track of how long someone else has been lying there and worried enough to alert someone? There are all kinds of ways to traffick people, and many are too trusting and not always thinking that an evil person is on the other end. I think it's good advice to be aware of stuff like this.
Of course it's good to be careful. But I don't buy that people wouldn't have noticed. If there were still many people around, she would have been noticed. If I was anywhere within her area, say, within 100 feet, I sure would have noticed if she didn't move for hours.
