I think the solution eventually will be for you to look at homosexuality not as your whole identity, but more of a fetish. Like a foot fetishist - a guy who just NEEDS feet to get off the way a gay man just NEEDS a male anus to get off. Today, because he hasn’t been elevated to a protected identity group, the foot fetishist still sees his sexual attraction to feet as a) abnormal, b) taboo, c) inspired by childhood sexual trauma, and d) not something to recommend or advertise to children. I could see homosexuality eventually being similar. I could see gay man being more open in the future about their childhood sexual molestation. I could see gay people in general backing off from the kids, and trying to get their hands on the kids. I could see gay people changing from, “I’m here, I’m queer, now watch me hump this inflatable dildo and sassily snap my fingers in front of your face, bigot bitch!” to, “I’m Frank, I’m an accountant, I like British punk from the 1980s, I collect stamps, I am working on a book of short stories”.
