So a good friend of mine has an asymptomatic inguinal hernia, which is not constricted. Likely from weight-lifting, like a chad. Obviously, surgery is one reasonable option. However, this friend would like to consider non-surgical options that lead to full resolution and still allow him to lift weights (eventually- a break may be necessary). Has anyone dealt with this before or have any words of wisdom?

If you do surgery avoid mesh where possible.
Rand Paul went to Shouldice clinic to get it done the traditional way

I just had hernia surgery. Bilateral inguinal repair. Only one side was protruding, but the other side ached more. Surgeon said one was starting there. I had the traditional repair with incisions. I wanted him to be able to see what he was doing so he wouldn't mess up the plumbing down there. It was very easy recovery. Much less so then ankle surgery I had last year
Just have the Surgery it's pretty simple! I had it in a Military hospital and went home on the same day! Just make sure you don't wear any tight-fitting jeans!
Good luck. Consult coming up, so I'll circle back to ya if there's any good news.
Only advice I can offer is if the TIF surgery is recommended do not get it!
The TIF procedure is extremely risky at best. I ended up with acute pancreatitis and severe stomach nerve damage afterwards. A woman in my same small town had it done and died within 24 hrs from "complications". Another close friend's father nearly died from the TIF procedure due to severe internal bleeding.
The TIF is the new commonplace "insurance farming" operation. "Hey! Got a history of reflux, hernias, or GERD?.... Well then the TIF procedure is what you need!" Nope! Big nope, can't stress the nope enough!

Those belts look legit. Thank you! I'm
Yes, I've been paying attention to the guy that created them about 5 years ago, thinking about ordering one, and finally got tired of trying to press my intestines back into my body. I ordered my first one, the heavy duty double-sided one, just an hour ago. Looking forward to some relief and no more pain and worrying that it won't reduce.
No kidding. Ordered a few. Hoping they'll help while I work out. I have no fear of getting cut on, just want to exhaust all conservative options first. Also wondering about wearing underwear with those things. Seems like a lot going on
I'll probably wear some cotton underneath the belt so my skin can breathe better. We'll see.
He says he designed the belt so it doesn't stick up above swim trunks. You can swim in it.
I wonder if it's true what he says that 25% of men get a hernia at some time in their lives.

Dr Robert Morse at rawfigs.com will sort you out. He is certainly a character but very knowledgeable. Good luck to your friend.
I have a hernia. L5 to S1. Major pain in my ass. If I let it. Trick is to do back exercises and do them daily. 15 min. And you're golden.
Ivermectin should do the trick.
