I think we are people who are ok with just hearing new or alternative ideas. The other side seems so so scared of that, whereas we seem to understand that you are able to listen to an idea and not necessarily agree with it. They seem to believe to hear and idea is to believe it, so they push censorship and suppression. Even when they lament that nowadays everyone has their own take on things, whereas before the Internet everyone agreed with what the news said. It’s easy to think, yeah, that’s an issue, but - is it, really? What is the big harm of everyone having a slightly different take on things? It’s actually not that threatening if you think about it.
