I hear that argument a lot and it baffles me. Nothing in the Bible accepts homosexuality.
I like to think that i am a very open minded person. I post on here even though I think a lot of the Q interpretations are pretty whack, just because this is a community of people with good intentions. I don't have to share all the same beliefs. I don't hate people who are sexually deviant, either, as long as they live their lives and don't try to dictate the lives of others. But I can't wrap my head around how anyone reads the Bible and comes away thinking Jesus was accepting of gays. 🙄
Like, I genuinely want someone to explain that one. I can't see how they could.
What they seem to do, is equate forgiveness with acceptance. The best thing that Jesus said that summarizes this is when he encountered the adulterous woman at the well, and said, "Your sins are forgiven, go and sin no more". (sorry if this is not an exactly correct quote). And when searching that, I can't believe some people think that means Jesus was indicating it was possible to live a life without sinning! In this case, He was referring to the sin of adultory, and clearly it is possible for a person to stop an obvious, outward sin as that, from continuing.
That’s a good one. In addition I think it’s also a misinterpretation of love the sinner (Not direct quote but in general)
Haven’t seen your posts in a while. Good to see you’re back.
I've been lurking, and occasionally posting, but I have to force myself to limit time here :)
