I've watched that video before, and I have no reason to doubt that the guy believes everything he says, but as God is my witness I have never encountered anything of the sort with any Freemason I have met.

Anything beyond 3rd degree isn't freemasonry. They're all 'side degrees', basically clubs you can join if you are a freemason.

So yes, being a FM is a pre-req, but they aren't official freemasonry.
