Dehydration can be a problem to the uninitiated. People from cooler climates don't understand how sudden exposure to high heat and direct sun can affect them. Maybe that's what happened in this case, I don't know. I do know that people should try to drink a gallon of water per day, regardless of where they live and higher amounts in hotter areas of the country, If everyone walked around with a water bottle in their hand instead of a Starbucks they'd feel a whole lot better physically and financially.
Good points. I like purified drinking water with minerals added. If sweating profusely, a bottle of gatorade or pedialyte. Spring water is good but the source has to be really monitored otherwise you could pick up e-coli or giardia cysts.
Also at theme parks don’t drink soda products, it could make you sick when you get overheated, even if you’ve been walking around the park on a hot summer day and then go sit in a restaurant at the park to eat and drink soda. It’s happened to our daughter when she was preteen. After I got her some water and she sat down for a few minutes she felt better. Always drink water when at theme parks especially in the summer.
