Not sure if I agree that there's a connection here between the two. For the past two decades, I can remember once a year hearing about a promising new "miracle cure" for the big C that never actually comes to market. The announcement of dostarlimab seems no different.
While the corona virus has shattered what faith I had remaining in the U.S. healthcare system and it's medical "professionals", there's tons of small research groups around the world doing research to find a cure for cancer. Some of those groups are undoubtedly comprised of good, noble people that just want to help mankind.
But the system as it's currently constructed prevents those cures from ever getting to market. No need to explain to this community the how and why of that.
