What is this thread all about?
Just a place for general discussion. A place to unload whats on your mind and talk about anything - personal, health, help needed, achievements, daily highs and daily lows, theories, predictions and what have you.
Does not need to be Q related.
Does anyone have experience with opening a booth in an antique/vintage/thrift store? I've accumulated some stuff and it's a much better idea than flipping Ebay where people don't pay and the items are in limbo for days. Ugh.
whenever my 89 year old grandpa accumulates stuff, he has a garage sale every day until he sells everything. He sells a lot on eBay from rummage sales and garage sales stuff he doesn’t feel like selling. Does great and it keeps him young.
You can sign up at flea markets for a weekend..a lot of them have a garage sale day once or twice a month. Here in Daytona it’s $5 a day
I know a lot of people who had antique booths who have moved to selling items online using Etsy; they say Etsy buyers are willing to spend the money.
If you ever list anything online, if you have any vintage kitchen gadgets or cookbooks, think late 30s-mid 60s, I would love to see them ;)
If you are in SD, IA, or NE, know some really awesome vintage antique stores you could consign your items at.
I have a couple Mid-Century Modern kitchen gadgets. The generation that's dying away was steeped in MCM beauty.
oooh my fav stuff! <3
I know someone who goes to open markets in Wisconsin and signs up for a booth there. I think it is first come first served to some extent although there are people with regular booths. They are seasonal but very well attended in the summer.
There's a church here that has one once a month. I need to try that out, as it's only a few bucks and see how it goes before spending more. If I had a booth in a store, however, people will shop when it's flipping hot and humid here. I need to give it a shot, eh?
I can talk myself into and out of anything sometimes.
I don't know if it's your personality but my friend and her husband actually find it very entertaining to have their booth. They love it.
I do enjoy some people. I like the laid back attitude of those shops.
When my dad passed last year I went through a crazy phase ( distraction) making crafts and wreaths and selling them on etsy. I have sold a bunch but not all. I would think ebay would be easier because then you dont have the overhead of a store . Im in Oklahoma and we have stores here that will rent you a space too. Usually antique/flea market stores just a thought
There are a lot of stores here that rent booths. I enjoy estate sales and if I can make a bit of money, I want to try.
(Oklahoma will always be my home.)
Aww didnt know you were an Okie ❤️
Boomer Sooner!!!!
I live in SEC territory, though. Yuck. We'll be in it soon. Yucker.
