To be fair hiphop is mostly what I listen to, and create - and even I can't stand most of what's being pushed as rap today lol. Much of it is hollow beyond a "good beat".
Check out the music video for it if you haven't seen it. There's even a Q reference in the lyrics lol
(He's also Waylon Jennings grandson)
The Q line goes "the storm is coming Q for heaven's sake" it's funny cause people often mistake it for CUE when writing out the lyrics.
He also has a very powerful one about the kids called Cry For Help I definitely recommend. The radio and labels etc pretend be doesn't exist but dudes still going strong by being independent. The GWNYN one has 18 million views and it's only a year old.
Lol fair enough.. well in that case try this one, he's not rapping this time and imo the video is just kinda wholesome (edit: he still sorta raps the verses but it's definitely a different vibe)
Im gonna paste part of Struggle Jennings lyrics to God We Need You Now
"I know the truth is hard to swallow, just digest it
Suspected something's going on but chose to just neglect it
Deflected by some breaking news, oh, we just accept it
Expected just to fall in line and follow their perspective
Don't question their objective but I gotta lot of questions
How these kids molested but nobody's been arrested?
Read it in the Testament, these children are protected
So I'm fighting all these terrorists, both foreign and domestic"
Nice! Gave me chills and I’m not a rap fan.
