Look into your pantry. Count how many meals you have available should all the grocery stores close their doors today. One meal of spaghetti will consist of at least a pound of ground beef and a can of spaghetti sauce. One meal for a family. Now, think about three meals a day. How many meals do you have in your house, right now? If you cannot feed your family for a month or longer, why? Do you think this country is going to get put onto the right track in the next few months? Do you want to bet your children's empty stomachs on that non-guarantee? What happens if Trump does not come back, DeSantis's plane crashes on a quick hop to the Keys and the US Capitol is attacked by whomever during a State of the Union Speech. In one short day all food security could be washed away and the only thing available to you is what you currently have in your kitchen cabinets. All I'm trying to do is to get folks to start planning on getting food while it is still available. Plant some corn and beans in the back yard, and make friend with your neighbors so you can begin trading if the need arises. If this country goes sideways we all will be tossed back intot he 1800's real quick. Are you ready or even been thinking about it? God bless.

How imma store all that food with a family of 3+ in an apartment in a city??? Asking for people like me with 0 storage.
Under beds. Under dressers. Stacked in closet. Be inventive. It doesn't have to be conventional :)
My house is small, only one bedroom however I do have 1 really large closet. I've managed to stash 6 months worth of goods for me and the same for my dog. Ya just gotta get creative with the space ya have.
I have a friend that had the same issue. She and her husband opened up the walls in their closets using the space between the studs and there was space over their kitchen cabinets that was not open so they opened it up and made it so that they could use that space as well. I asked what they were going to do if they had to move out, she simply said they would put the wall back up. I was kinda confused so she actually showed me. They take a few screws out of the drywall and put stuff in there and then put it back up. I was like, yep, you got this. Where there is a will there is a way. For those who say they don't have the money to just buy a bunch of extra food, again my friend, she started with just adding $20.00 worth of canned food to her groceries every week. Added up fast.
in a closet
Look closely at calories per serving.Prioritize calories.Water will become undrinkable quickly in city's.Stock up some pool shock powder or tablets.Buy a bathtub water bag.
Pool shock is not a good idea for drinkable water treatment. It has extra chemicals that will kill you.
This, incidentally, is why you can't relay on drinking pool water.
Even in small amounts?
Swallowing some water when you're swimming in a pool is no problem, but drinking the amount you'd need to sustain yourself is another issue.
I don't know details, just do a search for 'treating water with pool shock' (or something similar) and someone more qualified can answer your question.
Straight bleach (or similar) is better, but bleach turns into useless saltwater all by itself over time -- so you need to get water treatment pills, or bleach in dry form, etc. (After I read that, I grabbed some old bleach that had been stored for a while - and sure enough, it didn't smell like bleach anymore, just saltwater.)
Again, search for details -- I'm not an expert.
