Does not need to be Q related.
I have neither. :( Thanks for the suggestion!
You could use butter too, but the 'milk' part of the butter will make it smoke at a lower temperature.
Ghee is easy to make, you just melt the butter and skim the water off the top and separate out the milk solids on the bottom.
I agree 100% with your comment. I use ghee to fry almost everything. It has a hi-burn point, and everything just taste delicious, especially because foods don’t burn while you’re frying them.
I used to make my own tortilla chips. Super delicious. I cook pork chops in it, zucchini strips, fried potatoes for breakfast, even eggs. It’s stores easily, and it’s just an overall great cooking method.
I’m not a big fan of olive oil, and I know a lot of people like it. But it just has a weird taste to me personally. I don’t have that issue with the ghee. I’ve only started using it in the past two years. And it’s a staple in my family now.
Tortilla chips at the store are the worst, locally I tried to find some NOT using seed oils, even went to an "organic" grocery store, and there too everything was seed oils. Literally, not even a local brand.
But, yes, I love it too because it gives everything that buttery taste.
I totally get what you're saying about olive oil, I'm not a fan of olives except as a condiment that goes with whatever, and the ones that aren't infused have that olive taste to them.
