I live in alabama and due to high heat index our utility company is issuing "voluntary curtailment" from 2pm to 5pm to reduce the load on the plant. Something tells me the voluntary part is temporary...
Ill be clear that it is sweltering outside with heat index arpund 105 and im in a rapidly growing city but am curious if anyone else is seeing their power companies send out these notices? I have heard of it in commiefornia but never in the south locally.
Here in Colorado we have had a few 100 plus days which for us is about 10 to 15 degrees over average, they haven’t asked yet but we get emails telling us “Your using MORE energy than your neighbors!” Oh really? 😂 are they in another state?
We used to get those emails too and it was like "motherfucker I know, I have an all electric house!" Lol I wished I didn't but what can you do?
Yeah that agenda has been running here in Texas for a while, always trying to scare people into moar green energy and less cars, less AC, less oil/gas/energy period.
It's worse on people tied to a large shared grid, that is, a grid which serves more than one State because more government always means more troubles and costs.
We have our own separate grid here but the Deep State Enemies still try to manipulate us, solar and wind dependency is a thing and THAT sorry state of affairs causes a lot of pain.
Sultry and muggy lower 90s here in East Tennessee; but our local utility board (a derivative of the TVA system) has publically suggested that at the peak of the heat that all customers should slightly curtail usage.... it hasn't become an issue...yet.
isn't just too convenient this is the hottest June that I can remember here in SC?
I am in SC but it doesn't seem to be any hotter. I am about as far south as you can get and still be in SC. Rain in the other hand is way down.
Just a note for comparison.
NW Washington.
Last June was our highest heat wave on record, 112 plus. Very unusual.
Now it's been cold and rainy for the last three months with little change in the forecast.
97 this weekend in N FL...
Our local electric coop does this every summer and has for years. It's always voluntary.
Get some good old boys and put a couple high caliber rifle rounds into the exterior electrical transformers of every city/state/federal government administrative building you see. I bet those places are a frosty 68 degrees no matter what the temperature is outside. Plus an added bonus. Non working government is best government.
