There's nothing really wrong with being proud of yourself, but there is a disconnect between being proud of yourself and flaunting and forcing everyone else to acknowledge you, while also lashing out.
I've never been "proud" that I'm straight. I don't see why people should be particularly "proud" that they're gay, either. You can be proud of yourself for being out of the closet, I guess, but why does that have to be advertised so much? I don't have to advertise that I'm straight all over the place. I don't wear a shirt that says "I'm straight", I don't make everyone else acquiesce to my sexuality, etc.
It's just such a strange and inorganic disconnect.
I still don't understand why dicks out for anything but Harambe is considered "pride".
Because homo "pride" is slated to become the next "in" thing, dontcha know?
I was in Wal-Mart yesterday, and saw a big sign advertising their line of "Pride T-shirts -- Pride for the whole family."
