Shifting your feelings and beliefs and hope from Trump as your hero to DeSantis is not awakening or progress. It's like transferring your viewing from Cnn to Fox. It is your own dependence on having a hero to look to and follow that should be addressed. Break your addiction cycles and rediscover rugged individualism. We are the heroes we are waiting for.

What makes a good judge?
It's not that they suit your ideology perfectly, like many assume. A judge has to simultaneously please everyone equally while also choosing to send someone to the gallows.
So, a correct ruling isn't what makes a good judge. It makes them moral, sure. But it's not a judge's job to LEAD. They decide things when things need deciding. They're not the ones who are supposed to write the laws or argue with people. They are supposed to give everyone a chance to speak and make their argument even if it's fucking stupid as hell.
Which is why it's hard to find a good judge with a high moral character and integrity.
So, what does make a good judge, if simply ruling in your favor is not always a possibility?
Consistency.
If you know how a judge is going to rule because they have consistently ruled on the same arguments in the past, it gives you a clear path towards arguing your case. They don't have to rule correctly, mind you, they just have to rule consistently. If you know that by arguing a certain way you will get swatted down by a ruling by the judge, then to win you simply must avoid pushing those losing arguments.
If a judge rules inconsistently, however, you have no basis by which to form an argument. Everything is a damned landmine ready to blow your cock off, regardless of whether or not you have legal backing or a well-drafted argument.
Why do I bring this up?
Because the same holds true for any political figure, even though judges in our system are supposed to be a-political... But that's another problem.
In reality, all that matters is consistency. Do they do as they say? Do they not do as they say?
Is it better to have a President who ALWAYS LIES or one that only lies 50% of the time? I'd rather have the habitual liar because at least I can know what to expect. When they do whatever suits their whimsy in the moment, that's when everything goes tits up. Trump did as he said. He is consistent. DeSantis does as he says. He is consistent, even if his hands are tied.
They are cut from the same cloth. That's all that matters to me. Consistency.
When DeSantis stops being consistent, then fuck 'em. We don't need any more of that bullshit, we have enough inconsistency just trying to survive life as it is.
That's my stance. If Trump doesn't wanna be President again, fine. Just make sure we have someone who both keeps his word and is consistent about it.
Excellent point. It's not a popularity contest as so many lazy people want to make it. No one is perfect. So you have to look beyond for character traits. Honesty is a huge one for me. Consistency rates right up there because it is a reflection of integrity. But the point of my post was to make people think about their need to just transfer their hopes, get disappointed, transfer again, wash, rinse, repeat. We have to be better than that, we have to grow up.
