The thing about 3 mile island...

No radiation leaked
No one was hurt
The failsafes operated exactly like they should.

There was no scandal. There was no disaster.

If there was an equivalent in the airline industry, it would be like a plane landing at the wrong airport because they had engine trouble. No one was hurt, but some people may have arrived a day later than they wanted to. And now they have to rebuild an engine on an aircraft, and certify it is functioning properly again. That's it.
