L.A. City Council race is having a few surprises from those persistently late mailed-in liberal votes. Gil Cedillo tried to paint his rival, community activist Eunisses Hernandez, as an extremist by citing her work as an abolitionist on police and prisons. Eunisses Hernandez ran a platform based on stronger renter protection, and diverting more funds to mental health and social services. It seems to have flipped in the WEEK since the erstwhile date of the primary vote.
