Notice that they do not ban them from COLLECTING the data. They only ban them from selling it. Because the deep state can get access to it any time they like. This just cuts off non-law enforcement people from having access to useful info to prevent criminal activity etc etc.

Is it 1776 yet? Asking for a friend.

This also benefits big tech monopolies against newer/ smaller competitors, as do many democrat regulations (benefit monopolies, that is).
