Sadly the price of most supplements is increasing too fast, and the quality decreasing overall. It is too often trial and error to find what actually works, and sometimes what used to work, even for years, stops working, because the company/source gets bought out and ingredients change, with no obvious warning.
I noticed this year that some items across the board have been altered , on purpose, and "look" the same, but no longer work for specific purposes - the active ingredient is taken out before it is packaged and sold.
I like puritan pride and have gotten some items there, liking their buy 1 get 1 free, buy 2 get 3 free when the offer is available.
This year I got some items from google shopping, mostly because it is convenient, and
IF the price is not too much higher than otherwise.
What I would like to do, is grow herbs forty years ago, and continue for the next forty years too , haha. I've only grown tomatoes and aloe though. Oh, and heirloom produce. But I have to keep looking for sources affordable.
NAC, glutathione (the FDA is attempting to ban this, paid for /bribed/ controlled/ by the drug lords) .
