Exactly. You don't generally convert someone to Christianity by reading them the entire book of revelation!! At least start with something a bit milder.
Literally what made me a believer in Christ was the gospel and combined with revelations. I was a Torah only guy. Yeshuah is our lord. Not just for the Jew but all gentiles also. Moses was given the law, and after we didn’t follow it, because of our self destructive nature, Christ became flesh and the last sacrifice for human redemption. Not many Jews convert to Christianity, but when it happens it’s something beautiful.
I have read the Talmud. I don’t agree with Talmudic teachings. This is the interpretation of man guided by deception and evil. Gods word is eternal and therefore needs no man to interpret and manipulate his guidelines. Do you know what Talmud means? Do you know there are two Talmud’s ? Do you know what Zohar means? Why would Abraham’s teachings be mixed with esoteric witchcraft ? Some sons of God who turned against him are responsible for revealing the secrets of heaven to humans, and not to be used for good but rather evil. Or perhaps some did reveal thinking it was for good, but human nature does not allow for ultimate good to prevail, as humans need a strong lash against them to force them to be of good behavior. Only God can set us free from ourselves. And he has done this by giving up his son, as the ultimate sacrifice. Jesus proved to us all that you can achieve a love for God that is unshaken. many of us are not capable of such obedience, Jesus took our place and died for us instead.
I'm interested in your background. I assume you are Jewish. How did you come to be a Torah only guy? Is that common for someone to reject the Talmud? Does it make other Jews look down on you? I do know what the Talmud is and agree with your sentiment about God's word being eternal and not needing man's manipulation. One more question. I have seen Jewish converts write God as G-d because they worry that spelling out His full name is saying it in vain, but I noticed you don't do that. Is there any reason for that?
