Don't misinterpret my theory; I don't think he's working all alone.

But the 4 years he was President? Surrounded on all sides?

Personally, I would feel like he agreed to run a 4-year mission where contact with HQ was strictly limited.

He had support, as people worked behind the scenes to help him. Many agents were probably just cluelessly following orders, whether or not they disliked him, and just kept to their oath to preserve the Constitution.

But for the ones who were DeepState operators, they hounded him continuously to try and catch him in some illicit deals or with his pants down.

Another way to put it is that the best way to protect Trump would be to not tell him who was helping him and who was hurting him. Let him figure it out on his own. His ignorance would cause those working against him to have no chance of guessing who was on their own side or the White Hats. They would have to work double to figure out whether Trump was honestly duped by one of their own, whether Trump was just playing them for a fool, or if a Blackhat flipped and started working for Trump. The smokescreen in his administration would require them all to constantly avoid stepping on egg-shells.

Only the Military was there to protect Trump, ready to swoop in should he have put too much confidence in a clever DeepState agent.

In reality, this plan would require Trump to do absolutely nothing in terms of secret communications. In fact, the straight-fowardness of him only cooperating with Q through cipher-speak on Twitter would provide an intimidatingly frustrating situation where the only way to depose Trump would be to accept the fact Q was his ONLY outside contact. Severing that contact would guarantee they could never find out who among Trump was a White Hat or a Black Hat. Everyone would be too busy swimming in circles to determine everyone else's loyalty that they wouldn't have enough time to stop Trump from bringing America back from the brink of the 16-year plan.

I'm not certain this is what they did, but it's a valid plan. A truly ignorant President with a single life-line (Q) that is so public that to sever it would ring a death knell in their chances of figuring out what the White Hat plans are.

Imagine you're the shark. You can cut the diver's tether, but that would mean you, along with the diver, will lose track of the boat forever. Snap the tether and eat the diver? Or let the diver go and follow the tether back to the boat, were more meals can be had?
