for how long? isn't this just the tax break season?
Ten tax-free holidays (for essentials) and the entire month of October for gas, as I'm reading this. For gas, this will save consumers about 25ยข per gallon.

Take a look at some of the other tax-free items and dates. The article has them and so does the state revenue site (link below). Some computer equipment and Energy Star-rated appliances. This isn't just diapers and toddler clothing.

Hurricane season tax relief on essentials. This has been going on for a few years that I know of. Forgive me, I have not read the article, so this could be something completely different.
It's expanded greatly both in scope and length, with some tax-free periods spanning up to a full year, the inclusion of a "Freedom Week" for visiting various sites, even tools and accessories normally used by tradespeople.
